    …and thats true u cant learn japanese from anime…well ive picked up some words like “doshte, arigato, ittarashai, ittekimasu, domo arigato” and all those little words…nver full sentences. i stopped watching anime lol i grew out of it but im still learning japanese

    lmao. AMEN. I’ve picked up on quite a deal of japanese from anime, but I also seriously take japanese and I never have mocked the voices like my friends do from cartoons… I think eactly what you said. Cartoons are CARTOONS. They’re SUPPOSED to sound silly, cute, and inhuman. XDDD

    haha nice one! a bit harsh, i guess some people need that though. at least you say good things about anime too. one can spend a couple hours a day watching it while going out for 5 to still have somewhat of a social life while getting that anime fix some people crave(myself can sometimes be included ;D).

    very well said lol.. i’m also an anime loser and i do practice japanese in a half-assed, lazy way. I can speak as a walking example that no matter how much Anime you watch, it won’t teach you more than a few phrases in japanese. If you insist on using anime to make learning japanese more enjoyable, get some un-translated manga and try to translate them yourself. That method actually has merit to its approach, but it won’t be enough… get textbooks

    Yeah, but not as a PRIMARY source. Anime on the side sure. But, you need better stuff if you want to improve and have an understanding of the language. So you don’t have to memorize soooo much.
